I am thrilled to announce the fifth edition of my Finest Fifty Wines collection, which I publish for matthewjukes.com Members to give my most loyal supporters a few more terrific reasons to raise a glass. While this initiative is entitled ‘The Fifty Finest Wines of 2024’, this list includes wines which are, for the most part, recent discoveries because alerting you to wines that I found earlier in the year, those that have sold out or where stocks are thin on the ground would be self-defeating. I taste until the end of December to ensure this reflects the most elite wines of the year.
I hope that you love these wines as much as I do. It has been a great pleasure putting this collection together, pitting wine against wine to come up with a fascinating fifty. Most of these wines are available right now, and most are drinking nicely, too! The winemakers or owners have allowed me to write up a couple of previews ahead of their official releases in Q1 next year. I have not included any en primeur wines here, nor do any of these wines appear in my Piemonte Report or 100 Best Australian Wines 2025, as these Reports are live and incredibly in-depth. Spread across all price brackets and with no extraneous criteria other than serious quality and intrinsic value, this is a remarkably eclectic collection. I am confident you will find a few sensational wines here to excite your palate.
