You must pay attention to this Bordeaux En Primeur Report – it is certainly the most important in four years.
It may well be the third most important in a decade – of course, time will tell. This Report covers over 300 Châteaux with notes and scores on every single wine.
‘chiselled, pure and lithe’
On the whole this is a very smart vintage – it is not as rich and powerful as 2005 and 2009, nor does it have the firmness of tannin and regal air of the best 2010s, but I venture that the 2014s are going to please a lot of people and I will certainly be buying a good few cases because I was mesmerised by the chiselled purity of the finest wines.
I hope that this Report helps you to decide exactly which wines you will hunt down to add to your own cellar.
Matthew Jukes’ superb 70+ page report on the 2014 vintage is one of the most complete reviews of a Bordeaux harvest you will ever find, on top of which he has totally nailed the vintage. A must read for potential en primeur buyers.
Authoritative, clear, fair and a very good read.
A real magnum opus – a really good read; laced with your personal, very readable and friendly style.
What a work, congratulations! It is a great source of information.
