100 BEST AUSTRALIAN WINE FESTIVALS

Matthew Jukes - 100 Best Australian Wines - 23-24

The 100 Best Australian Wines 2023/24 Festival Season is upon us.  I have organised four incredibly exciting new Festivals around the UK to showcase the finest Australian wines of the year.  2024 is the 20th year since I started my 100 Best Australian Wines initiative, and to mark this moment, I have upgraded my old roadshow format into a series of sensational, much larger celebrations.  Food, music, wine, art, Saturday and Sunday afternoons have never been so good – the 100 Best Australian Wine Festivals are epic celebrations of the greatest Australian wines.   Here are the events with full details and links to ticket sales.

I have once again teamed up with my friend Diana Thompson to hold a magnificent 100 Best Festival event in Edinburgh.  Diana was recently awarded CEO Today Magazine’s Business Women of the Year Award 2023’ for outstanding leadership, vision and entrepreneurship.  She is famous for organising tremendous events, and before the pandemic, we held an exclusive lunch to celebrate my 100 Best wines, which sold out in moments.

We will taste 54 outstanding wines (detailed below) from all corners of Australia, ranging from great value everyday style wines to fabulous treats!

There will be two sessions, 12.00-15.00 and 16.00-19.00, and Matthew will present 30-minute Masterclasses in each session, showing older vintages of some extraordinary wines from his previous Reports to tantalise your tastebuds.  There will also be great music and delicious food.  This will be the largest Australian wine event I have ever organised in Scotland, so come on down!  Diana and I look forward to seeing you.

Join hosts Loki Wine at the Grand Hotel Birmingham on Saturday, the 13th of April, for an unforgettable wine-tasting experience!  Taste the crème de la crème of Australian wines handpicked by the renowned Matthew Jukes himself.  This Festival is your passport to vinous bliss, from elegant whites to bold reds.  This event is a unique opportunity to taste and learn about the finest Australian wines available on the UK market, selected by Matthew Jukes, one of the world’s most respected and influential wine writers and critics.

Matthew Jukes has published his annual 100 Best Australian Wines Report since 2004, and it is considered the bible for any serious Australian wine lover. The report showcases a balanced, modern collection of all styles of wine, including sparklers, whites, reds, sweet and fortified wines, covering all price points and regions.

The Festival is Matthew’s way of bringing his report to life and sharing his passion and expertise with wine enthusiasts across the UK and beyond.  The Festival features the 54 wines – the largest number ever shown at a 100 Best event, ranging from unusual grape varieties and new innovative producers to some of the icons of Australia.

During the event, you will get the chance to taste all the wines on show and talk to Matthew himself, who will be on hand to answer any of your questions and give you his insights and tips.
