The Great Australian Red Competition 2020 on hold until 2021

Dear friends,

The uncertainty surrounding the duration of lockdowns, travel bans and events has led us to make the difficult and regretful decision to cancel the judging of The Great Australian Red 2020.

Our competition has established a vital role in raising the profile of Australia’s definitive blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz, and we deeply regret our first cancellation in its 15-year history. The health and wellbeing of our guests, exhibitors and staff is, of course, always our highest priority.

Current circumstances do not offer the clarity for us to reschedule this year, but we shall return stronger than ever in 2021.

We remain resolutely committed to championing Australia’s TGAR blends. In the absence of this year’s competition,  Tyson Stelzer and I both warmly welcome tasting samples to feature in our own publications.
